Migration Scholars
Global Solidarity and Resistance Network
The Migration Scholars Global Solidarity and Resistance Network is an urgent collective response against escalating attacks on migrants and refugees, worldwide, and also against scholars and academic freedom.
This Call was initiated by colleagues Nina Glick Schiller (USA) and Bela Feldman Bianco (Brazil), and supported by a list of fellow signatories to the original Call (including Nicholas De Genova, among many others).
We are scholars, teachers, students, and activists committed to defending academic freedom, speaking the truth about migration, and standing in active solidarity with migrants and refugees everywhere.
We are building a global network to:

Publicly support migrants and refugees and challenge anti-migrant policies and narratives
Defend each other against the repression of academic freedom and scholarly speech
Refuse complicity with deportations, surveillance, and the silencing of dissent
Build social movements that unite migrants and non-migrants in the fight for justice
